BeKnit
BeKint is a brand that was inspired by Njugush’ story while growing up. Mothers would shona sweaters and they would be passed down to the next cousin/sibling in waiting and it would go on and on.That would keep the family warm and KNIT together. Njugush Creatives LTD Teamed up with Spinners and spinners LTD a company with over 40 years’ experience in design and manufacturing of textile products and came up With the BEKNIT range of product to keep the Be Knit family Knit together.
Handmade Turkana Mifuko
Turkana baskets are woven with a special traditional technique where the knowledge of weaving is passed on from one generation to the next. Each piece is handmade by skilled women in rural villages
The core idea behind Mifuko is in its name: in Swahili, ‘mifuko’ means pocket. With Mifuko, everyone is left with something valuable in their pocket. For the artisans in Kenya, it’s fair pay, empowerment, and less dependence on unpredictable farming as a source of income. For Mifuko customers (that’s you!), it’s a unique piece that weaves together classic Nordic design, traditional Kenyan handcraft, and the story of a strong, independent woman whose signature you can find on the label.
